Following a two-handed work, in collaboration with Gianni Neto, who sees the birth of a beautiful book about underwater environments of the Mediterranean, accurately described and photographed by the authors.

The title, "Under the water in the Mediterranean" (published in 2001, reprinted and now out of print) , Contains the whole meaning of a substantial work, sponsored by the SSI teaching, aimed at fans of the Mare Nostrum divers who want to know environments, fauna and flora during their dives. The work of Francesco proceed with the large volume "Illustrated Encyclopedia of marine invertebrates (ArbitrioEditori, 2002 - out of print) made with his friend Francesco Costa, a work unique in its kind, and then again with" Calabria Mediterranean unknown "(large book of photographs, Iiriti Publisher 2007), a book in which the author presents the biodiversity of the Calabrian seabed with over 250 photographs.

To photograph has always used both the Nikonos system, the which has been an advocate for practical use in critical condition and the quality of the results despite operational difficulties, and various reflex diving suits, starting with an Olympus OM2 in Nimar housing (first experience) and then move on to a legendary Pentax LX (with viewfinder sports) in Aquatica housing, and then, after some years, finally converted to use with Nikon F4 Nikon bodies (always with sports viewfinder) in Nexus housing. He has always alternated Nikonos diving suits and exploiting the benefits of the two systems, in its view complementary. Today started alternating film and digital, trying to implement the latest before the market slide will force the abandonment of a system that has made the history of photography.
