Francesco Ricciardi was born in the mid-'70s in a small town in the former West Germany, then moved with his family in Italy for some years and resides on the island of Elba, a place it starts to rise in him the great love of the sea and its inhabitants.

His photographs of the main biological interest, were exposed to Natural History Museum of Milan, in an exhibition on the effects of the 2004 tsunami on coral reefs of the island of Sumatra, Indonesia.
